LOCATION

Coming from Florence , take the FI-SI free highway exit in Colle Val d'Elsa north and go on to Volterra. “Villa Francesca” is situated along the SR68 (regional road), 7 km far from Colle Val d'Elsa, the entrance is on the right once you've passed the 59 th km.

Coming from Siena , exit in Colle Val d'Elsa and take the regional road SR68 in direction to Volterra.

NEIGHBOURING TOWNS

Colle Val d'Elsa is about 7 km from the villa and it's famous thanks to its crystal production. In the historical centre, skilled and qualified handcraftsmen work a pretty rare and uncommon craft in their workshops: copper engraving.

San Gimignano is 15 km from the villa. In this little town you will both admire evocative medieval towers and taste its typical spice, the saffron, a perfect compliment to its famous white wine, the Vernaccia.

Volterra is about 19 km away. The town is famous for its alabaster artifacts; it's full of Etruscan-, Roman-, Medieval- and Renaissance relils. Volterra overlooks the entire Cecina valley from a 550 mt hill to the sea.

Poggibons i is about 15 km away. Go visit its medieval fortress. It dates from the year 1100 and was recently restored. The small city is also well-known both as an important commercial centre and as the most popular industrial district in the Val d'Elsa region.

Monteriggioni is about 20 km away and it's famous for its characteristic medieval fortress which encircles the small town with its imposing walls along the perimeter. The town's history is linked to the events which led to the formation and development of the “Francigena road”.
